Designed for: This course is designed for Law Enforcement that enforce Drug Laws to include Patrol, Investigators, Agents, Corrections, Probation, Parole, and all others who possess authority to arrest including Military Police.

Prerequisites: None

Description: This course focuses on the development, use, and management of drug informants.  Upon completion of this course, the student will have been provided with proper guidelines to recognize, recruit, train, and safely manage drug informants. The student will also have a heightened awareness of various sources of information available to the investigator, and will be aware of the need to develop and maintain good tactical and officer safety skills when working with drug informants.

  • Develop and review departmental drug informant policies and files:
  • Develop strategies to safely conduct undercover operations involving drug informants:
  • Know how to minimize the possibility of revealing your drug informant’s identity when so desired
