Designed For: This course is intended for uniformed state, and local law enforcement officials who have successfully completed the Pro-Active Criminal Patrol Techniques Course.

Pre-Requisites: Pro-Active Criminal Patrol Techniques Course

Description: This course is Part 2 of the Basic Pro-Active Criminal Patrol Techniques. The advanced format in this course is designed to meet law enforcement needs in extensive specialized training in criminal patrol. Students will be tested on their observation skills, and traffic stop scenarios. This course will also review some of the topics in the basic course, with an emphasis on the post seizure investigation in order to assist the officer in winning cases. The students will learn how to detect manual and electronically/hydraulically controlled compartments that are being widely employed by drug trafficking and terrorist organizations, this will be conducted in the classroom as well as with “hands on” training. Five stations will be deployed with one instructor assigned per station to show students how to effectively and professionally detect contraband in vehicles. Numerous displays will also be on hand to show students the different types of concealments. The instructors teaching this course are all current interdiction officers working varies interstate systems.

The following topics will be covered in the classroom as well as during the “hands on” portion. Passenger vehicles and commercial motor vehicles will be discussed in these topics.
