Description: This eight-hour course will teach law enforcement how to identify and investigate drug and human traffickers, gang members and other Transnational Organized Criminals (TOC) involve the spiritual world in their trade for protection from law enforcement. This intensive course will include information on various legitimate and illegitimate saints and icons used by criminals. Several significant arrests, including that of a cold case murder, as well as drug and money seizures throughout the country have been attributed to this course and are discussed during the presentation.

Course Objectives:

  • The student will become familiar with how drug traffickers, human traffickers, and gangs invoke the patron saints and the “spiritual” world in their trade and why he student
  • The student will be able to recognize paraphernalia related to the patron saints and the spiritual world and how it is associated to drug trafficking, human trafficking and other crimes, thereby enhancing officer safety and possibly leading to further investigation.
  • The student will become familiar with other aspects of the spiritual world, such as “curanderos” being used by the Mexican Cartels and Hispanic Gangs throughout the United States.
  • The student will be able to testify in court as to having training and knowledge on how drug traffickers, human traffickers, gangs, and other criminals involve the patron saints and the “spiritual” world in their criminal activity
